Exploring ANZAC Day With Children
Learning about ANZAC Day helps young children to understand the life and times of Australia and it's people. The ceremony and traditions are such an integral part of our culture, that it gives us an opportunity to talk to the children about the importance of ANZAC Day.
Discussing ANZAC Day with children ensures that stories about Australia's hero's and history are passed down to younger generations.

Painting with young children not only helps their creative development but it also stimulates their brain. Stimulating children’s brain can also help other areas of their development. When setting up a painting activity for young children, stop and think about what areas of children’s development it may be helping.
*It can help build your child’s self-esteem as they are free to explore without fear of mistakes, or bad results.
*It can help your child to learn colours faster and in a more practical and fun way.
*It can help your child with their mobility and coordination skills as they are constantly engaging their arm muscles to paint freely and to look out for minor details as they create their artwork.
*It can help your child communicate their emotions, feelings, and thoughts easily, and help them to vent any bottled up emotions, such as anger.
*It can even be a fun educational experience for your child, as they discover shapes, colours, and designs that are important for their age.
*It allows them to exercise their creativity freely, which also helps to develop brain functions.
*It also introduces sensory motions for your child, whether they use their fingers, a brush, leaves or any other medium to help create their piece.

- Community Involvement -
Kilmore Childcare Centre & Kindergarten, recently visited the beautiful Ma’s Garden in Broadford to purchase some plants for our service.
During our visit one of the friendly staff donated to us a plant checker. This will allow the children throughout the centre to be able to visually see when their plants need water, or if they have too much.
Thank you Ma’s Garden for helping us to select some great greenery for our service and for providing a learning opportunity to the children in our care 🙂 ... See MoreSee Less
